The Mid-Missouri Region is extremely diverse economically and has become a center for growth in pursuits ranging from agricultural development to industry. The six county region has been designated an Economic Development District by the Economic Development Administration of the United States Department of Commerce. This designation allows the Mid-MO RPC to develop and commit resources to activities focused on economic development. These activities include coordination of workshops, seminars, and regional economic development discussions.
The Mid-MO RPC created the Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) to provide a forum for the distribution of information and ideas regarding economic development within the region.
The Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) hosts bi-monthly meetings which emphasize opportunities with potential economic benefits for the six county region. The committee is comprised of individuals working for Mid-MO RPC member governments, chambers of commerce, and businesses such as Ameren UE, electric cooperatives, and local banks. The committee’s function is to help identify economic development needs in the region and provide a forum for exchange of ideas regarding options and resources.
